Hidden

Cat curled

Spider climbing

Crack on wall

Wind whipped leaves

Fireplace warm

she

looks out her window

Remembering

well

that knock on the door

and yellow flower

lies deeply hidden

In a chest of hopes

Dried up

fragile

pages of a diary

Sweet nothings

promises

said

Three score years

Wrinkled hands

welling sad Eyes

read

Rocking

and rocking

Regretting

her own words

the knock on the door

That Never came

again

echoes

loud

silent

empty
