Wouldn’t you Know

wouldnt you know, steven humphreys, prose, books

Wouldn’t you Know

it’s happened again

As soon as I wrote a Post yesterday about being nice to people

Low and behold

I was tested

it happened the next day

Two rude people in a row

Walked across my path

in tow

I was ready for the attack

I knew it was going to smack

Funny, when you Dish what they dished out back to them

You never really win anything

in the battle with Mac

You always lose

But, The anger feels justified

And, you might wish you smashed them down to the ground in little pieces

With even crueler words than they used against you

So, they would curl up in a little ball and cry out in pain burning in their own hell

But, the payoff wouldn’t fill a thimble

If you had to eat it to survive

and be more nimble

You’d be mighty hungry

Eating a bowl of Hypocrite

Because that’s the paradox of what life does to you

in a fit

It turns the tables

When you are supposed to keep your word

Because you said you were goanna try to become better

You never quite get there

And, Never quite finished

Because, You thought you were already there

still in transit
