Those not like Us

There are those not like us.

We are surrounded.

We are outnumbered.

 they are doing just fine.

They always get by.

They use.

They take.

They don’t give back.

They are good talkers.

But, seldom doers.

They promise.

But, don’t deliver.

They know how to use you.

Who are these people that wreak such surreptitious havoc on our lives?

they were born of no conscience.

They are those not like us.

They don’t see shrinks.

They connive.

They deceive.

They twist and turn.

They go around things.

They don’t stay still.

They leave town.

They run.

They plan.

They know what they are doing.

They are not crazy.

They are those not like Us.

Nothing bothers them.

Their feelings are not like our feelings.

They think they are nice people.

Just ask them.

They are the first to say how filled with goodness they are.

We know they are not.

They are the liars of the world.

The hypocrites.

They do and say whatever gets them what they want.

We are the good people.

we have become the ruled.

They are not good people.

Their radar was always on

for that opportunity to steal and take away

whatever you’d allowed.

They are in the shadows, waiting.

They are in the sunlight, planning.

They are in the moonlight, enjoying

happiness they took away from

all the happy trusting people

they’ve murdered.

But, evil hides so good, these days…

It’s everywhere.

In the news, TV, the store, the coffee shop,

and where all the other dirt is hidden under

the rug.

You can’t destroy all of them no matter how you try.

they scatter like cockroaches

but have made themselves appear

as heroes riding on

white horses.

if evil didn’t multiply, we wouldn’t know

what goodness was when we saw it.

It has always been that way.

Their ego’s have grown.

My ego has

I am not as proud.

They are nothing but prideful.

I am not as angry.

They are angry as hell

and you better say what they

want to hear

or they’ll spin your life into ruins.

I don’t want a lot of stuff.

They want it all and will steam roll over

you to get it.

I am happier.

They are gluttons.

they are greedy.

they are heartless.

they are cruel.

they are ruthless.

and, endlessly competitive.

they think they are none of these

and believe it’s us who are

the threat to a better nation.

they have it turned around.

but, that’s how they think.

Yet, they know the truth

but speak only lies to confuse.

they get their way.

because, they rule the world.

they seek money.

they seek power.

they seek fame.

they get what they want.

They make the earth a worse place.

a much more dangerous place

where the push of a button

would destroy us all.

They make us bitter.

they laugh at us and don’t care.

they think we are little people.

we waved the white flag for

them to stop it.

They kept on

and on.

It’s in their nature

to think they’re superior.

they are those not like us.

and, they will be dead, someday.

And, monuments will be built for them

for generations to worship

and look up to with awe.

while, we, the good caught up in a wave

of breathlessness

will be as forgotten

as all those who said

far fewer words

long before us.
