The Magician Speaks

You look

into his

eyes

which hide

secrets

behind them

you see

his

fearless

hypnotic

chasm

the magician

speaks

sawing

the  black

wooden box

in half

on stage

with the

person in it

shouting

‘this is not a trick!’

he hops up

on his horse

riding

away

with his

long

red and black

cape

flowing

trotting

deep into

the forest

to his

waiting

congregation

of lost

souls

he talks

on their level

so they understand

urging

them

to

converse

with their ‘real selves’

asking

‘what do you want to do?’

he commands they

rise from within

their own bodies

flying with those

inner wings

‘dare not

sleep

a

wink’!

they

rise

up

floating

in thin

air

awaiting

the

‘sign’
