Windswept

Windswept

whisked away

swept into the night

broken into a thousand

cubes of scattered stars

fragments of me

splinters of you

in my side

I’ll never know

why it was

it came to be

I am ever changing

I was blind

half my life

and could not see

even though mine eyes

were fully opened

it was me all along

that part that was there

seemingly

hidden

I know now

why I couldn’t see

our magnificent beauty

it was always

there to see

It was me who wasn’t

paying attention

It was me who had to change

his colors from green

to drab brown

slowly turning

into vivid gold

something had changed

inside this man

in becoming

what was always there

finally

materializing

to conscious view

because I no longer

feared

the unknown

my unwillingness

to see

had

vanished
