Who

Who goes there?

is it you

I used to know?

E C H O

in years ahead

what becomes of me?

S E A R C H I N G

who will take care of you?

W A R M  B L A N K E T

trusting those

who haven’t proved

themselves worthy

grows

dry

foxtail weeds

in your

brain’s

H E A D

listen well

it’s quite

nearly

enough

G U I D E

a midnight ride

remember again

biding within

that famous day

waiting for

answers

written

in the village?

R E P E A T I N G

in the alley?

S T R O L L I N G

in our leisure

through hollow streets

of fever?

they are so watchful!

T H E Y

with their wooly

eager ears

hear their own

feet coming

they are

the bombardiers

dropping their

clay pots on you

from their ledges

overhead

reflecting every

morning’s tide

stealthily

steeping

looking down

over all.
