It talked to you poem by steven james humphreys
Spiritual and beyond

It talked to you

It spoke

through your

cradle bars

like a

phantom passing

telephone poles

chasing cars

you felt dizzy

it rattled your

helpless world

hours uneasy

you had

a choice in bed

pulled your covers

over your head

couldn’t

find your voice

it laughed

floating above

toys dancing

cut in half

dead

it’s your dove

couldn’t

scream

paralyzed

in the

magic room

hovers

blackness keeps

rocking the crib

flying broom

through cracks

in guardian

cherub

walls

wispy wind snuck

broken screen

gaps over waterfalls

pulling your feet

glittering sparkles filled

the air sweeps

narrowed mind

think backward

demons in your future

prime line

dues paid back

matters of

fine wine

everything spinning

adds up to nine

innings

crumbled into

little pieces

in the bottom of

a thinning toy chest

Lord’s

prayer

vinyl record

playing

fills the room

with grace saving angels

praying.
