Windy days a poem by steven james humphreys
Nature

Windy days

we hoped this

day would never

come

but all days

like seasons

do end

My soul

yearns for

windy days

like these

by the seaside

we

build our

castle made

from shifting sand

like a lonely sea stack

sifting my fingers

through scattered memories

and

broken sea shell remnants

a renewal of

mind,

emotions

and body

the fair

sultry

summer

solstice

warms my heart

and salty breeze

ruffles grasses

nearby

like winter dogs shaking

their wet coat after

dashing through

shallow waves

splashing sprayed

water high

making a

rainbow

birds fly through

a free gift to all

who turn their

heads

to choppy

white

caps

old

mother

ocean

casts

at

the

horizon

edge

painting its

own glory

as the

sun

sets.
