storm over my head

storm over my head poem by steven james humphreys

the storm rises over my head

raining, raining, raining on my bed

lightening crashing

the thunder roars

blowing gentle rain

falling all around

on my bedroom floor

inside my ears and out through

my head it goes

there’s a divine wind blowing strong

my needle and thread high and low

but the sun still shines bright

and I see the coming rainbow

beyond the mountains

as rain patters its footsteps

against my window pane

I am dreaming life

and all it holds

within shades of me.
