find what you love

bukowski, poet, poetry

“Find what you love and let it kill you” ~ Henry Charles Bukowski

I read the quote above in the beginning of this page and my wife started laughing. I love some ‘sick’ humor. Bukowski is one of my favorite great poets. There he sits with a beer. Apparently, there’s some controversy out there about if Henry said the above quote or not. It may have come from this letter directly above in the video. Nonetheless, it sure seems like he’d agree he’d like to have said something like that if perchance he had not…

'If you're losing your soul and you know it,
then you've still got a soul left to lose'
~ Bukowski

If I lose my soul to God, he’ll keep it warm until I arrive. Last but not least, do find what you love, and if it does kill you, that’s far better than something you hate killing you. Would you not agree in spirit?
