an empty heart

an empty heart poem by steven james humphreys

human frailty,

bitterness,

cruelty,

and fear.

who are

the caretakers

crying

overflowing

rivers

of tears?

those empty hearted

souls live down there

these long forgotten years

where forgiving

waters flow

tall waterfalls

raining from the clouds

covering an entire valley

of little straw roofed

candlelit houses

with their

chimneys

puffing

smoke.
